Based in Burlington, Vermont, Karen brings her blend of intimate portraiture and candid photojournalism to every event she covers.
In 2001, I left a 20-year career in newspaper photojournalism to open my Burlington-based portrait studio. It has been an amazing and rewarding 22 years and I've had the joy and privilege of making thousands of portraits and telling memorable visual stories across New England and beyond.
My clients include an eclectic and fascinating array of business executives, consultants, musicians, bankers, realtors, actors, teachers, activists, grandparents, teenagers, politicians, love-struck engaged couples, the most beautiful children, the most wonderful families, moms-to-be, athletes, newborn babies and, of course, the cutest dogs!

Besides being a photographer, I am 21 years married to my wife, Gillian, and we have successfully raised our three amazing kids to adulthood. We have 3 grandkids and two very needy dogs and, somehow, I manage to get in my daily spin or yoga class, an occasional hike, and lots of cooking.
